The long-awaited line of haute couture dresses designed by international model turned fashion designer, Marija Shatilo, were showcased this past weekend for New York’s Fashion Week. The collection presentation was debuted at the S’zen at Hotel on Rivington on Friday, September 7th.
Shatilo’s collection, named Lace & Angels was inspired by the former models own fashion inspirations, Elia Saab & Alberta Ferreti. The Lace & Angels line features some of the most rare, sophisticated and elegant dresses around. Featuring a range of different styles from red carpet gowns, evening dresses and cocktail dresses, there is a piece in the collection perfectly suited for any cocktail or formal event.
The pieces include cut outs, open v-necks and v-backs, sparkles and transparent features. The designs of the dresses were very well thought out by designer, Shatilo and she didn’t miss a single feature. Using only the best qualities of silk, lace, cotton, satin, chiffon and sequin fabrics, people can’t help but to notice the great detail that was put into designing and putting together this line. Inspired by her favorite colors, Shatilo’s dresses come in a range of appealing colors including champagne (with hints of rose, silver and gold), ivory, navy, nude, and black.
Sharing details about her Haute couture collection, Shatilo stated, “Lace & Angels is an elegant and highly sophisticated line of evening & cocktail dresses and red-carpet gowns. The label is designed for women of all age groups and aims at dressing them up fashionably for their special occasions. The collection is a perfect blend of elegance, sensuous, style and sophistication and is committed to satisfying women, irrespective of their age, while ensuring that they feel good about themselves and their bodies. The dresses are best suited for occasions such as red carpet and black-tie events, special cocktail parties and evening events, weddings and other special events.”
Shatilo’s collection features fifteen dresses in total, although only six were previewed at the show, most of them coming in multiple color selections with sizes ranging from XS to XL and fully customizable to meet individual needs. We are told that later this year, the pieces from the collection will be available for purchase on her website, www.laceandangels.com. Along with select boutiques in Soho, Manhattan and the Miami Design District. In the next few months, there will also be some pop-up shops selling the pieces from the line.
As Shatilo debuts this stunning haute couture collection, she also is looking ahead to the future. She plans to continue to expand her clientele, and to open more stores in New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Additionally, she has plans to help individuals with tailoring and designing custom dresses for special events.
