The Beauty Industry Needs to Catch Up and Employ More Diverse Models

 At the end of the day, women want to see models who look like them also sell their cosmetics — not just their clothes. Of course, as we've written about before, different countries have different beauty standards: that are often rooted in race and socioeconomic status. In the case of the Far East, in countries like Japan, Korea, and China, it doesn’t have to do with trying not to be Asian. In those cultures, there’s a long tradition for women of light skin to be equated with beauty, and also there’s a class inner beauty karakusa element for her, beauty comes from inside, fashion clothing comes from outside.
