Gloria Edwards is an American fashion designer known for her strikingly edgy and unique clothing designs. Not only has she has been the subject of several major interviews and articles including Examiner.com, Themnotus.com, Trend Magazine, Lucid Los Angeles, Inner Loop magazine, and California Apparel News, but she has also worked with numerous international supermodels and photographers. However, her meteoric rise in the industry is itself an interesting story.
Gloria's interest in fashion arose from humble beginnings in Greensboro, North Carolina. Where her mother created garments in her spare time and her father was a photographer working in New York. All Gloria's friends were all creative types so naturally Gloria had a strong interest in the arts that ultimately blossomed in fashion. By the time she was in high school she was designing her own clothes. When many of her friends moved to New York to follow their dreams, Gloria was inspired to move to Los Angeles to pursue her own dreams and knew what she had to do. Working relentlessly she moved to LA and finish her degree at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design & Marketing, all while cultivating her own styles and techniques designing clothing for boutiques.
After only one year in Los Angeles she was featured in a major fashion show to showcase one of her lines and also appeared in California Apparel News. From there Gloria has had the great fortune of landing several jobs with other well-respected individuals in the fashion world that helped and also provided her with valuable industry experience. She worked directly with the stars of other luxury market lines including Guess, Vince, Morphine Generation, and Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier.
Now Gloria is working on her latest fashion line that will sure make a splash. She currently has her collection complete and is working on her next photo shoot. She has also started a marketing campaign that includes a redesigned website and potentially an ecommerce store for couture made goods. When asked to share a little about her upcoming line, Gloria indicated that the fashion world should expect a product consistent with what she is known for a rocker, edgy, and gypsy-inspired theme as well as dark eveningwear. She also has an interest in the bohemian style trend arising from the Coachella Valley and she is working with a very successful brand in that area. All in all, Gloria is very excited about the direction of her line and the current trends in the industry.
